MADRID (AFP) - The European Football (UEFA) on Friday sentenced three-game suspension on Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho after he was accused of favoritism toward their rival club, Barcelona.

Mourinho, who has been prohibited from being on the side of the field in the second semi-final match at Camp Nou on Tuesday, will get an extra penalty that is again one match suspended sentence for three years.

UEFA control and disciplinary body finds that a series of comments from Mourinho who accused Barcelona have benefited from the decisions of the referee is "an inappropriate statement."

The Portuguese coach, who previously was expected to become the first coach who coached three teams that won the European Cup after previous successes with FC Porto and Inter Milan, was also sentenced to a fine of 50,000 euros (72,500 U.S. dollars)

Real defender Pepe, who rewarded the red card in the first leg, received sentences of one match, but Uefa said it would consider it to have lived when he did not play the second leg match.

Real also imposed a fine of 20,000 euros for the bad behavior of their supporters.

Barcelona's reserve goalkeeper Jose Pinto, who rewarded the red card during rioting after the first round was over, was sentenced to three-match suspension.

That means he can not take part in the Champions League final on May 28 against Manchester United, and also the first game of Barca's UEFA club competition next season follow.

Both clubs should make an appeal against the sentence within three days. Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
